The Vienna Boys' Choir, a world-famous chorus, recently brought a musical feast to Kunming Theater.
Mingtong Primary School’s chorus, a golden prize winner in many local art festivals, went on stage together with the Vienna choir on the evening of Sept 28.
The Vienna Boys' Choir, a descendant of the boys’ choirs of the Viennese Court, has a history of over 500 years.
Conductor Manolo Cagnin led the children in many classical songs to applause echoing throughout the packed theater.
The end of the show saw the Chinese chorus and the Vienna Boys' Choir join together to sing a famous Chinese song “Songbie” and a German song “I Bin Wait Hergangen”.
The chorus of Mingtong Primary School has shared the educational philosophy of the Vienna Boys' Choir since 2012 when it was named “friends of the Vienna children” by the local education department.
It aims to create an environment in which the children learn music, and develop their personalities, with joy.
