Yunnan to cultivate cultural tourism companies

The Yunnan Tourism Development Commission will promote the integration of tourism and cultural industry in the 13th Five Year Plan (2016-20), ynci.cn reported.
The tourism development commission will establish a cartoon games and movie production center based on tourism villages and cultural villages.
The commission will also launch a film and tourism shooting center in the next five years and promote the rapid development of the film making, animation and cultural creativity industries.
Yunnan will accelerate promoting ten historical tourism programs and launch several tourism product brands such as the ancient Silk Road program and the Yunnan-Vietnam Railway.
The province will also establish over 20 cultural recreational blocks and cultural creative business centers while launching three to five regional national festival brands with international reputations.
In addition, the province will protect antiques, non-material cultural traditions, and relics with historical cultural heritage, while launching a campaign to protect and preserve the folk customs of local villages.
The provincial tourism authority will promote state owned companies’ integration and form two to three cultural tourism companies with regional influence and annual revenue of over 10 billion yuan by 2020.
The province plans to cultivate a group of small private micro cultural tourism companies, to expand the tourism market and enhance the comprehensive benefits of cultural tourism.
