China Tianjin's Yangliuqing New Year paintings are on display in Chiba city of Japan on July 19 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of sister city ties.

The show will last for six days until July 24 and one of the most important issues of the exhibition is "to perceive Tianjin".
Hundreds of representatives of the Chinese embassy in Japan, the Chiba government and the China-Japan Association are expected to attend the show.
The exhibition includes three sections: the history of Tianjin, the introduction of Yangliuqing New Year picture and Tianjin today. 26 Yangliuqing New Year Pictures, 5 woodblock pictures and hundreds of photos of the Yangliuqing new year pictures will be displayed.

Tianjin's Yangliuqing woodblock priints originates from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and have developed into Tianjin's representative folk art genre.
The Yangliuqing New Year Pictures were cradled in the Yangliuqing district of Tianjin and has more than four hundred years' history. The local people always use the pictures to decorate their houses during the Spring Festival.
The exhibition offers a chance for the visitors to know more about the Tianjin culture and deepens the friendship between Tianjin and Chiba.
On the exhibition, the visitors can also make the traditional Chinese new year pictures by themselves under the guidance of available artists.
The event is organized by the press office and the foreign affairs office of the Tianjin People's government and Chiba City of Japan.
