Groundbreaking ceremony for the Eco-technology Park |

The Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city held a groundbreaking ceremony for its Eco-technology Park in Binhai New Area,a key national strategic area in Tianjin, on June 3.
The Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city is a strategic cooperation project between China and Singapore aimed at improving the living environment and building an eco-culture.
Officials attending the ceremony included Qiu Baoxing, Chinese Vice-Minister of Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, Mr Mah Bow Tan, Singaporean Minister for National Development and Huang Xingguo, Mayor of Tianjin.
The Eco-technology Park, covers an area of 30 hectares, and is situated in the 4 square kilometer start-up area of the Eco-city. It plans to take green technology, business process outsourcing (BPO) and other high added-value services as its pillar industries. Upon completion, it will provide clean technology for north China cities seeking sustainable development and become an ecological base in the Bo Sea area.
“The Eco-technology Park is planned to be finished in 5 to 6 years with a total investment of 2,000 million yuan(292,722,908 $), creating over 15,000 jobs”, Wu Caiwen, CEO of Sino- Singapore Tianjin Eco-City Investment and Development Co. , told reporters.
