Ukraine seeks to expand co-op with Tai'an

A delegation from Ukraine led by Alexievich, an adviser to the Ukrainian president, recently visited Tai'an, East China's Shandong province to expand the two sides' cooperation in more fields.
Ukraine, as one of first few countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative, has been expanding its cooperation with China in the fields of finance, trade, science and technology and education.
Tai'an, conforming to the national policy, has also been boosting trade with countries and regions along the Belt and Road routes, including Ukraine. In the first three quarters of the year 2018, the total export-import volume between Tai'an and Ukraine reached 22.06 million yuan ($3.2 million), a year-on-year increase of 12.71 percent.

During their stay in Tai'an, the delegation also visited Tai'an National Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone, Taishan Medical University and Taishan University to seek cooperation in the field of education.
"Ukraine attaches great importance to developing friendly relations with China. We hope to expand pragmatic cooperation with the Tai'an city in all areas, including culture, education, science and technology, and deepen our exchanges and communications by taking the opportunity of this visit to Tai'an," said Alexievich.
