A total of 35 tourism projects worth 109.09 billion yuan ($15.86 billion) were signed at the 2018 Shanxi Tourism Development Conference held in Linfen city between Sept 19 and 21.
Among the projects, 13 deals related to the development and construction of tourist attractions, five related to the construction of tourist-oriented villages, three are healthcare projects, and two are tourism infrastructure projects.
The provincial tourism development commission has worked hard to promote the city and the province to a wider audience, promoting the development of new activities and projects, attracting interest from both tourism firms and investors.
Sheng Dianqing, director of the commission, revealed that Shanxi will enact preferential policies in financing, investment, environmental protection and taxation to facilitate private capital investment in the province’s tourism industry and support local tourism development.
