A roundtable event for Taiyuan Energy Low-Carbon Development Forum was held on Sept 15.
Luo Huining, Party chief of Shanxi province, presided over the discussion and set out key topics of common concern to the foreign representatives present at the forum, which is being held from Sept 16 to 18.
As a major energy-producing province of China, Shanxi has been exploring the clean and efficient utilization of coal, developing renewable sources of energy and conducting supply-side structural reform of the energy market to complement development trends, said Luo.
At the roundtable, 20 attendees from 11 countries introduced the current energy mix in their countries and many recognized China's efforts and results in advancing the development of low-carbon forms of energy, as well as its efforts to tackle climate change. Many of the representatives expressed their willingness to form new partnerships to help develop cleaner sources of energy.
