Shanxi has recently set up an association to foster the province's big data industry.
The association will further sharing and communication on technology, industry and the training of specialists related to big data among technicians, research institutions and big data companies. It will establish a public service platform, which will advance cooperation between the Shanxi government, businesses and research institutes, and serve as a think tank for the booming big data industry in Shanxi.
"The association will gather resources in the big data industry and encourage technical innovation, investment and business collaboration, accelerating the industrial growth of big data," said Wang Yanyun, president of Shanxi Big Data Industry Association, at the founding ceremony in Taiyuan.
There are 207 companies as well as 59 colleges and institutes across Shanxi engaged in the field of big data, such as data analysis, advertising and marketing based on big data. The applications of big data have been widely used in agriculture, e-commerce, finance and security.
