Shanxi province will launch its first Internet of Things (IoT) project, according to a new industry development forum held on Nov 5.
An intelligent and integrated management platform will be accessible to 100 local communities this year and cover 1,000 communities by 2017, providing personalized services for residents.
The platform shares various apps and software for community services, such as the management of home safety and O2O. It has so far run smoothly and satisfies people's needs through information collected from terminals, cloud storage and big data.
The project will help solve problems in parking, security and other issues impacting the daily lives of residents. For example, locals can easily find a place to park their car thanks to cell phones connected with a system of parking lots.
Other services including weather forecasts, ticket booking, shopping and property services are all available through the intelligent community service app available on cell phones.
