A robot able to deliver meals attracted a lot of attention at the Taiyuan exhibition area of the China (Taiyuan) International Energy Industry Expo, held from Sept 7 to 9.
The eye-catching robot has a better-than-human memory and is able to adapt well to its surroundings. It can identify its way to the canteen according to the location of tables and a route previously set into its system, moving on the ground where navigation strips are laid.
Staff members of the expo can control the robot through web servers using a tablet PC or PC. The robot is also able to detect and translate foreign languages and Chinese dialects when they set the language system.
Though currently somewhat of a novelty, many hope that robot waiters will be taking our orders in restaurants in the not-too-distant future.
