The 2014 China's Fortune 500 list highlights the Chinese giants. Eleven listed companies in Shanxi have won places in the top 500, accounting for 32 percent of the listed total in Shanxi. The ranking of China’s Fortune 500 was released by Fortunechina.com on July 14, sxrb.com reported.
China’s Fortune 500 embraced a new player from Shanxi in 2014: Yangmei Chemical Co, making its debut on the list in 212th place, while Shanxi Zhengze Electric Power Co returned to the list after four years’ absence with an annual turnover 9.151 billion yuan ($ 1.47 billion) in 2013.
The ranking witnessed the slipping down of seven Shanxi listed companies, especially in the coal industry, while battling with stagnant economic conditions.
The list has accounted the listed companies' net profit index, which hailed Taiqin Railway Co as the most profitable company in the 11 Shanxi listed companies; however, deficits were also happening within the 11 listings.
The 2014 China's Fortune 500, the fifth such ranking released by Fortunechina.com, was a review of Chinese listed companies, and included Chinese companies listed in both domestic and overseas markets. The decisive factor of the list is a listed company's turnover in the past year, which is a reflection of the company's comprehensive strength.
