The Shanxi provincial commerce department has reported exports to the emerging markets worth 778 million dollars in the first 4 months of the year - 38.4 percent of the total export value of Shanxi - for a year-on-year increase of 33.9 percent.
From January to April, Shanxi's foreign trade with the emerging countries reached 2.73 billion dollars, approximately 60 percent of the total value of Shanxi.
Authorities from the Shanxi provincial commerce department added that Shanxi has been increasing its efforts to explore the emerging markets while stabilizing its traditional market.
In addition, Shanxi's exports to the Netherlands witnessed the highest year-on-year growth rate, with 611 percent, worth of 273.43 million dollars. Meanwhile, exports to Singapore were 25.46 million dollars, up 126.9 percent. And Shanxi’s exports to Russia saw an increase of about 50 percent. The export commodities to those countries are stainless steel plates, hard coke, coal, magnesium, textile raw materials and products, and chemical products.
