The arrival of warmer weather has brought the earliest spring flood at Hukou Falls, on the Yellow River, in five years. The falls'ice sheet began melting, bringing back the water's roar and swelling, attracting visitors, who wanted to enjoy the grandeur.

The spring flood at the falls is also called the peach blossom flood, because the water begins rushing just as the peach blossoms along the Yellow River are in full bloom.
