Spring is here and Shanxi province’s prominent Hukou Fall, on the Yellow River has sprung back to life again, after March 6, with the end of Jingzhe (one of 24 solar terms on the Chinese lunar calendar) and the coming of warmer weather which has melted the ice sheet on the fall. The thick ice layer added a special grandeur, during the winter season, to the 20-meter-high fall’s normal roaring and downpour, which attracts many tourists who come to enjoy the beauty of the fall and surrounding area.
