As part of China’s 12th Five-year Plan (2011-16), Shanxi province has its own 12fth Five-year Plan for New Industrialization, which includes an Industrial Park and Industrial Demonstration Base Construction, at a cost of 200 billion to 300 billion yuan, as well as more than 10 other demonstration bases, for more than 10 billion yuan.
The Plan calls for the base construction work to focus on leading industries, industrial intensification, strong innovative ability, improved brands and images, optimal use of facilities, and improved environmental protection, to put the industrial scale and influence out in front nationally.
By 2015, the province expects to have sales at these industrial demonstration bases accounting for more than 50 percent of total industrial park sales in all of Shanxi province.
