China-UK roundtable hopes to develop financial talent

A roundtable conference took place in Lujiazui Financial City, Shanghai's Pudong New Area, on Feb 24 to discuss topics concerning Chinese and Britain financial talent development and ways to promote cooperation between companies operating in the two countries.
The event was launched by Lujiazui Financial City Development Bureau and UK's Department of International Trade (DIT) following the signing of a cooperation deal earlier in the day.
Representatives from more than 20 Chinese and British enterprises and institutions including China-Britain Business Council, UK's leading education group BPP, Nottingham University Business School, Tianan Property Insurance Co, and China Financial Futures Exchange attended the event.

Tan Shangwei, head of Pudong's organization department, said that Lujiazui's cooperation with DIT will enhance the exchange of talent and the level of talent training that the two countries can provide.
Charles Liang, head of Education, Training and Qualifications at DIT, introduced DIT's strength in quality training and the provision of educational resources. He believes there is a bright future for Lujiazui-DIT cooperation on talent training.
