The Pudong people's procuratorate signed a memorandum of understanding with the Shanghai pilot free trade zone in the district on April 20, with the aim of strengthening the rule of law in the Waigaoqiao Bonded Zone, Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone, Jinqiao Export Processing Zone, Zhangjiang High-tech Park and World Expo Park.
The procuratorate says it will build an intellectual property protection system, to improve customs supervision and management, and to focus on corruption among returning overseas Chinese and civil servants. It will also pay greater attention to preventing financial crimes, cracking down on fraud and other issues and deal with disputes in e-commerce, trademark infringement, financial leasing, and fundraising.
Chen Siqun, the chief procurator, said he and his team will try to create a convenient, international, and, most importantly, legal business environment in this zone.
