Jiading marks 70th anniversary of its liberation

Jiading District People's Government hosted a national flag-raising ceremony in celebration of the 70th anniversary of Jiading's liberation on May 13.

Over 1,200 delegation members from the government and national army, as well as notable figures and veteran soldiers, arrived for the ceremony.

Held in the morning, all those present stood solemnly when the national anthem was played, gazing as the flag slowly rose.

A meeting was held after the national flag-raising ceremony, inviting representatives from the government, enterprises and scholars to look back at the past and learn from it in order to shape the future.

Over the past 70 years, the total revenue of Jiading has increased from 880 million yuan ($128 million) to 101.55 billion yuan, a year on year increase of 19.2 percent.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Jiading will continue to pursue the building of a moderately prosperous society in an environment of regional peace and security.
