An exhibition combining German automotive design and music kicked off in Shanghai Auto Museum on April 18.

The first themed exhibition in the museum's interdisciplinary exhibition this year, it also marks the China debut of German artist Raughi Ebert.

The exhibition -- "German Car Design Meets Music" -- was staged in the Volkswagen Auto Museum in Germany last year, drawing wide attention from both the automobile industry and art circles.

Ebert holds that there are many commonalities between car design and music. In his creations, classic car design is integrated into the sheet music of master composers such as Beethoven, Bach and Mozart.

The exhibition consists of a group of 20 collages showing design sketches and sheet music. Three classic German cars -- a 1955 Beetle model, a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL and a 1959 Volkswagen Station Wagon T1 -- are also on display.

Visitors can use the headphones offered at the exhibition to enjoy musical masterpieces while appreciating the artworks.

Shanghai Auto Museum was opened to the public in January, 2017. With a gross floor area of 28,000 square meters and an exhibition area of approximately 10,000 square meters, it is the first specialist museum of its kind in China. The museum is divided into four sections, history, collection, exploration and temporary exhibitions respectively. The museum boasts of a collection of more than 100 amazing cars, representing over 20 brands from China and abroad, spanning 100 years of automobile history.
