The Yuanxiangfang Community Health Service Station recently started operation in Jiading New City of Shanghai, local media reported on March 17.
The station is the first of its kind in the area, which aims to reduce local residents' difficulty of getting medical treatment.
It also launches a family doctor program and uses information technology to give the residents better healthcare service.
Locals who sign a contract with a family doctor can just call the doctor and make an appointment, whenever they feel under the weather, which is quite convenient.
At the opening ceremony, a medical expert was invited to give a lecture to enrich the residents' healthcare knowledge.
According to local officials, the area plans to build six such stations in total. In addition to Yuanxiangfang, one more station is ready to go operational and two are in the planning stage.
