Ten dolphins from Osaka, Japan arrived at Penglai International Airport in Yantai, Shandong province on Feb 27 to join Penglai Polar Ocean World.
The dolphins, all between two and four years old, will adapt to their new surroundings for up to three months before beginning their job of entertaining the public.
This was the second time the ocean park has imported dolphins by air since 2013.
According to Zhang Huichun, curator of the park's dolphinarium, the recent imports are bottlenose dolphins, a class II protected species in China. Research on their artificial breeding and population conservation will be conducted in due course.
