The average life span for policemen in Shandong is 59 years old, according to a resource from the Shandong Public Security Bureau.

In Shandong province, a total of 565 policemen have died and 8,950 have been injured on duty since 1978.

This year, the Shandong Public Security Bureau has issued 10 regulations to better take care of policemen’s health, including regulations on regular vacations and the healthcare system.

Family members of those who have died on duty are also given attention. Since 2003, a total of 28.66 million yuan ($4.62 million) in student aid has been allocated to children of deceased officers and over 70 million yuan in pensions has been allocated to family members.
