The girls, both top students at school, live on about 60 yuan ($8.79) sent back each week by their father, who has been laboring in the cities as a migrant worker. The girls, well-prepared for the national college entrance exam starting Monday, hope to get into a prestigious university. The annual test is the reigning yardstick of Chinese college admissions.
