Xi'an and Tianjin are set to implement more convenient clearance procedures, according to a cooperation memorandum on clearance supervision between the two cities.
The memorandum was signed at Xi'an Customs on May 14 and will allow companies from Shaanxi that export or import commodities from Xi'an International Trade and Logistics Park to start their declaration formalities at Xi'an Customs, and the clearance procedures will be completed as soon as the commodities arrive at the port.
At the contract signing ceremony, Tianjin Port (Group) Company and the management committee of Xi'an International Trade and Logistics Park also came to an agreement on clearance supervision, which will improve Xi'an's role as an inland port, as well as the development of international trade in the city and the province.
The cooperation will allow Shaanxi to enjoy the functions of a coastal port and will allow Xi'an to serve as a multifunction center, specializing in packing, storage and distribution. It will also lower the operation costs and save both human and material resources, according to the deputy commissioner of Xi'an Customs.
