Natural wonder Lijiang Laojun Mountain is a tourism hit

As an important part of the Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Areas, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Lijiang Laojun Mountain National Geological Park attracts many tourists at home and abroad.It is a popular attraction due to its rich alpine vegetation, rare animals and plants, numerous glacial lakes, spectacular Danxia landforms, and multi-ethnic and colorful folk customs.

In 2018, the park received 53,242 tourists, a year-on-year increase of 33.37 percent, and realized a comprehensive tourism income of 12.62 million yuan ($1.88 million), an increase of 93.08 percent from the previous year.

Currently, the park is exploring the establishment of new tourism projects, such as panoramic tourist trains and a two-way sightseeing cableway, to promote the transformation and upgrading of its tourism services.
