Entrepreneurs and enterprise representatives attended the inauguration of the third international hiking challenge held in Lijiang, Yunnan province on Oct 20.

Nearly 100 people across the country will hike along the Lijiang section of the Tea Horse Road from Oct 21 to 24.

Starting from the Wenfeng Temple, and ending at the Jiuzi Sea, participants are scheduled to brave 108 kilometers in four days.

After the trek, competitors will also help the local public service by planting trees and later attend a foundation-laying ceremony of a new road.

The competition has been held since 2015 and is supported by the tourism development committee of Lijiang and the municipal sports bureau, with an aim to promote Lijiang's historic culture and folk customs, paving the way for more tourist and business projects.
