Day one: Lijiang Ancient Town

When you arrive at Lijiang Ancient Town, you can go to the hotel and check in before wandering in the ancient town on your own.

Day two: Yulong (Jade Dragon) Snow Mountain Yulong Snow Mountain is known for its danger, beauty and uniqueness. Scenic spots include the white water lake, blue moon valley and ice tower forest. Sightseeing, mountain hiking, exploration, scientific investigation, and holidays are all possible on the mountain. The highest point on the gallery road is 4680 meters above sea level.

Transportation tips: If you plan to go by yourself, take the No 7 Bus at the North Red Sun Square. The fare is 10 yuan per person. However, if you plan to charter a vehicle, a taxi will charge 100-150, a minibus around 200 yuan. The bus from the snow mountain back to the ancient city stops running at 6 pm.

Day Three and Day Four: Lugu Lake

Located at the boundary of Yunnan and Sichuan province, Lugu Lake is about 200 kilometers away from Lijiang. Lugu lake has clear water and beautiful mountains. Among the numerous mountains, the most famous is the Mountain of Goddess Gemu.

Lugu lake is famous among Chinese tourists partly because it is home to the Kindom of Women in the classic Journey to The West.

Mosuo girls, Zhu Cao Boats, and Mosuo fisherman's songs are regarded as the three treasures of the Lake. Transportation tips:

1. You can take the bus from Lijiang to Lugu Lake. The bus leaves at 9 am and 10am. The trip takes about six hours and costs 65 yuan. In peak season, there are more people than seats available , so you are recommended to book a ticket.

2. You can also take a shuttle bus which departs from the parking lot of Lijiang ancient town at 8:30 for 70 yuan. At 10 or 12 am, the shuttle bus leaves from Lugu Lake passenger station for 50 yuan.

Day Five: Lashi Lake

Lashi lake is a lake eight kilometers west of Lijiang ancient town. It is also the biggest lake in Lijiang. It is referred to as an “International Plateau wetland.” You can ride horses on the grassland or take a boat to witness the magic of the plateau, lake and snow mountain together.

The best season to go to Lashi Lake is in winter (after November) since it is the best time to watch birds. You can take a boat to reach the center of the lake. The ticket for Lashi Lake Wetland Park costs 30 yuan.

Recreational activities such as horse riding, canoing and roasting fish are recommended at Lashi Lake.

Transportation tips:

You can take a minibus at Zhongyi Market for five yuan per person. If you come with friends and relatives, you can charter a bus for around 200 yuan.

Coming back:

You can lie in and enjoy your last day in Lijiang before depart for home.

Tips:

1 Make sure you take all your belongings with you before you check out.

2 Arrive early at the airport.
