COART Festival to open in Shuhe

With the arrival of spring, the Spring Session of the 2014 COART Festival will open in Shuhe Old Town of Lijiang, South China's Yunnan province, on April 23 and continue for five days.

According to the organizer, this year's COART festival will extend its venue from Shuhe Old Town to Coart Village, established for the festival, where pleasure ground, markets, art exhibits and multi-media competitions will be held; Shuhe Old Town, the festival's traditional venue, will be a carnival of colorful arts including world music, experimental drama and dance.

COART, a five-day artistic carnival, takes place every autumn and spring in Shuhe of Lijiang, displaying different art forms in unconventional ways that encourage those who have enthusiasm for art and freedom to express themselves.

The spring session’s theme is, "Youth is ability and art is attitude."
