The construction of new Lijiang

Construction in Yulong county, Lijiang city, saw many breakthroughs in 2013. Projects such as the Ancient Tea-Horse Road, Town of Snow Mountain-Spring and residential area of Xianggelina have been carried out in an orderly manner.

Key water projects such as the Baisha Ecological & Environmental Conservation of Lakes, Wenhai Reservoir and Toutaihe Reservoir are under construction. The New Rural Area Construction project and “Beautiful Countryside” Experimental Area Construction project have also been carried out. The Poverty Alleviation and Development project of Tai'an county, with a total investment of 138 million yuan ($22.3 million), has passed municipal inspection.

In 2014, Yulong county is going to relocate part of its county hospital. It will also accelerate phase II of County Stadium as well as public service projects such as markets, gyms and city green parks.

County GDP growth in 2014 is expected to reach 14 percent. Meanwhile, Yulong county will integrate the development of suburbs like Huangshan, Baisha and Lashi into Lijiang city.

In addition, local flavors in Yulong county, for example, will push forward the local farm economy. In 2014, Yulong county plans to build a number of fine farming areas and eco-farms, focusing on local aspects like Ludian's traditional Chinese medicine, Lashi's snow peaches, Tai'an Flower Sea, Jiuhe's green vegetables, Daju's olives and Lijiang's maca. At the same time, a number of competitive enterprises will be introduced to the farming areas.
