The Yunnan government released the third batch of the province's intangible cultural heritage list in November after a 20-day public notice period. A total of 17 projects in Lijiang city were added, according to the Lijiang intangible cultural heritage protection center.
Along with the existing nine projects added before, Lijiang now has 26 provincial intangible cultural heritage projects. Among the 17 projects, the Naxi ethnic group medical treatment method and Zhu treatment method were included in the traditional medicine list of intangible cultural heritage for the first time. Shuming village, Labo township and Shuanghe village were selected as ecological protection areas for their traditional ethnic culture.
Other projects including the city's folk literary epic Black and White War, Guqi melody ballads, traditional Leba dances and cellar wine production techniques were also on the list.
"It takes more than three months to finish all project applications. Success is closely related to the hard work of the staff," said Xu Qing, director of the Lijiang ICH protection center.
