Kunming offers shopping, tourism and dining

A series of leisure activities featuring shopping, exhibits, performances and food kicked off on Sept 7 in Panlong district, Kunming.

Hundreds of top malls, restaurants, parks, hotels, automobile producers and jewelry companies in Panlong, the business center of Kunming, will provide citizens with a selection of leisure activities.

Four promotions will be held in different shopping centers. First, goods at stores and supermarkets including Aoside, Jinge, Carrefour, Walmart, Suning and Guomei will be on sale from Sept 7 to Oct 10. Second, a raw jade market and a quality jade exhibition will open at Kunming Jade City from Sept 15 to Oct 15. Third, all makeup products at Jinge Department Store will be sold at a discount from Sept 7 to 22. Fourth, several auto shows will take place at Shibo Car Market, Jinda Car Market and Chexingtianxia International Auto Mall. Auto suppliers will give special offers from Sept 7 to Oct 10.

Three tourism activities will help citizens relax. Heilongtan Park, in conjunction with Kunming Botanic Garden, will issue discount ticket packages. The city will also hold a maple festival, a mid-autumn music festival, a bicycle open tournament and a mountain-climbing competition from Sept 18 to Oct 7. Jindian Park will display a total of 70 copies of bronze work from the Xizhou Dynasty (BC 1046-BC 771) from Sept 7 to Oct 10. Yeyahu Park will invite stunt performers to perform the legend of mid-autumn from Sept 20 to 21.

Last but not least, three food gatherings will present people with delicious dishes from home and abroad. Qicai MeTown shopping mall will host international delicacy exhibitions every week with different themes from Sept 7 to Oct 10. Meanwhile, Xinying Community will decorate its streets with lanterns and hold beer competitions. Traditional food can be found in a subdistrict of Shuanglong.
