Avoid peak season

Avoid Golden Week and summer vacation from July to August in order to save money.

Golden Week includes the Chinese Lunar New Year Golden Week that begins in January or February, the National Day Golden Week that begins around October 1, and the Labor Day Golden Week that begins around May 1.

Book the room

Book the room online in advance and order pick-up services a day before your arrival if necessary. The inn will charge you for the service.

Ask before paying

Be aware of prices while shopping and eating. Ask for the price before you buy.

Wear sunglasses and hats

The UV level is high from June to October and a hat and sunglasses are useful additions.

Bring a Backpack

Bring a backpack instead of a travel bag with wheels. Roads in Lijiang are rugged and paved with cobblestones. A backpack is more useful and easier to carry. A pair of comfortable flat shoes may provide relief for your feet during long walks.
