This autumn, delicate Chinese lanterns will light up the city of Shenyang in Liaoning province.

An installation of over 40 dazzling groups of lanterns will illuminate the city for around 60 awe-inspiring nights.

The 2017 China Shenyang Huasheng Lantern Show will be held in Shenyang from Aug 8 to Oct 8, lighting up Shenyang’s skyline with the glow of 40 colossal lantern installations.

These shining groups of lanterns, purely handmade by 100 craftsmen from Zigong city——“the hometown of lantern art”, are quite different from traditional Chinese lanterns as they made breakthroughs by combining light with sound to provide better experiences.

Shenyang has also introduced the exhibited works from the Lyon light show and Manchester light show, making it the first instance for northeastern China.

Additionally, a series of activities related to Chinese culture, such as lion dances, martial arts performances, Sichuan Opera and traditional Chinese music instrument performances will be held during the Shenyang lantern show.
