This scenic part of Tianhua Mountain sits in a sub-arctic forest zone, 1,100 m above sea level on the southwestern slope of Changbai Mountain in Guanshui town, Liaoning province, on 33 square kilometers of land, 150 km from Dandong. It is a scenic spot with a AAAA-Tourist Area rating.

Tianhua has been praised for its marvelous mountain scenery and is famous for its peaks, gorges, ravines, and beautiful water, especially for Bailong, Qinglong, and Yulong ravines, and the Tianhua, Lingguang, and Xigu peaks, which form a harmonious whole.

Tianhua is known for its height and difficult access. No one knows when the two cracks originally appeared in it to create another natural wonder -- Tongtian Gorge, which is more than 100 meters deep, almost a meter wide, and 318 meters long.

Tiantai is Tianhua’s highest peak, one massive stone sticking up into the skies. When climbing up it, you can get a commanding view and a closer look at the 600 m2 natural stone face.

There are18 peaks in all, some of the others being Maogong, Tiantai, Guanyin, and Shitou, which provide a good place to look down on the waterfalls, streams and jagged rocks.

Maogong appears to be a natural place for a giant to sit among the mountains and lean against the sky and clouds, framed by a great sea of green trees. When we look at the broad face of Maogong, it seems to be the extraordinary countenance of a great man.

Bailong Ravine has an abundance of water and fantastically large boulders. The Xiu Pool, with its very clear water has a stone that resembles human buttocks. Many visitors cannot help laughing at it.
