The Zhangjiagang Women's Federation held a themed activity at the city's television building on March 7 to celebrate the 106th International Women's Day.

More than 300 residents working on women's and children's affairs gathered in the rehearsal hall to witness the launch of the app "Rose Garden".

According to Tang Hongying, vice president of the Women's Federation, the app has six columns which allow women and children to take part in mutual communication and interactive games, as well as offering various other services.

The Women's Federation also got supporting funds for eight public welfare projects working on women's and children's affairs from 12 enterprises in the city. Tang hoped the introduction of a third party would guarantee fair, open and transparent services for the women's and children's sectors.

At the end of the activity, the Women's Federation awarded trophies to public service organizations which had made outstanding contributions to women's affairs in 2015.
