"China Yonglian Fu", a rhyming poem about Yonglian village in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu province, has been released by Liu Changhuan - master of Ci, a type of rhythmic Chinese verse - over one year after its creation.

Fu, a Chinese literary form, is a type of descriptive prose interspersed with verse which is easy to be passed down from generation to generation. Liu's poem, Yonglian Fu, tells the story of the village's Party secretary Wu Dongcai, who helped lead villagers to develop Yonglian since 1970. It also depicts the current prosperity, civilization and harmony in Yonglian.

Liu visited Yonglian in 2014 for the first time and was impressed by the development of the village that was once the poorest fringe of Zhangjiagang. Since his visit, he decided to write a poem to mark its growth.
