International residents living in the Wangzhuang district of Wuxi were grateful for the opportunity to experience some authentic Chinese culture on Feb 21.
Several foreign teachers working at Wuxi International School, Xinwu district, took part in a cultural exchange activity that introduced a handful of China's quintessential artistic practices to the gathered audience. This included learning about the traditions of the tea ceremony, practicing calligraphy, listening to the playing of ancient musical instruments such as the pipa, as well as watching the creation of a traditional Chinese painting.
The lively and thought-provoking performances were enjoyed by many and according to Wangzhuang Cultural Arts Center, the event organizer, the afternoon sought to build an integrated community of people who appreciate art.
