Suning, a privately owned Chinese retailer, announced additional investments of 1.5 billion yuan ($235.96 million) in Wuxi, Jiangsu province for logistics, e-commerce, and Internet finance, reported the Wuxi Daily.

Within the next three years, Suning plans to set up at least 3,000 online shops on the website's Wuxi channel, reap 4 billion to 5 billion yuan in online sales.

It will build four Suning plazas and upgrade five Suning stores in Yixing, Huishan, Jiangyin and Wuxi New District.

In terms of logistics, it will set up 700 intelligent cabinets in communities, institutions, academies and office buildings around Wuxi and add 2,100 delivery persons.

The enterprise is also speeding up rural expansion. It will launch 520 service stations and agent points in 32 towns and 51 communities across the city – offering some 2,000 positions.

Headquartered in Nanjing, Jiangsu, Suning has more than 1,600 stores in over 700 cities in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Japan.

Its e-commerce platform suning.com ranks among top three Chinese business-to-customer companies.

In 2004, Suning Commerce Group was listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
