Updated : 2015-03-25

In 1992, two years after Lee stepped down and then served as a member of the cabinet in an advisory role, he made his second trip to Wuxi. He revisited the Taihu Lake, but also paid a special attention to finding out more about well-developed private enterprises in the city. This second trip, therefore, led to the creation of the Wuxi-Singapore Industrial Park (WSIP) in 1994.
