Eastern Chinese city of Taicang in Jiangsu province has further promoted its image as a solid partner of German companies for over two decades in a global exhibition in Stuttgart.

Taicang has become a solid business partner of German companies. A total of 250 German-based companies have invested in this country-level city with dynamic commercial area, reasonable rents and advantageous transportation, including 89 from Baden-Württemberg, one of the economic leaders in German and even Europe, specializing in research and development and high technology.

The promotion "Taicang Day" has been an important platform for Taicang and German cultural exchange and economic cooperation. Every year, Taicang will choose a different German city for self-promotion, and 2016 marks the ninth time of the same event.

This year's promotion in the state of Baden-Württemberg is indeed the fulfillment of the promise the two parties made during the state's delegation visiting Taicang in 2015, which is also part of Baden-Württemberg's biennial globalization event.

The promotion aroused the interest of local trade and business circle, some 120 commercial representatives and government officials attended this event.

Taicang introduced its history and achievements of cooperation with Germany, also expressed expectation on future in-depth Sino-German collaboration in various fields, including education, and environment protection.

Taicang government officials, representatives of German-invested companies and scholars discussed Taicang’s Germany-friendly investment environment.

Various other topics were under heated discussion, including the student exchange program of German’s vocational education: dual system program, Sino-German kindergarten in Taicang and German-based companies's practice of German’s plan of "Industry 4.0".

Top official of Baden-Württemberg's state economic department Reichl praised the contribution Taicang has made for Sino-German cooperation, expressed appreciation for the help Baden-Württemberg-based companies received in Taicang.

Zhu Weige, consulate of the People's Republic of China in Frankfurt, said that the secret of Taicang to win German companies' favor lies in highly efficient government service and the emphasis on business development.

Merchants and project directors showed their intention to visit Taicang in the future.
