A total of 77 volunteers, including college students, policemen, government employees, migrant farmers-turned-workers and ordinary residents, donated blood in a hematopoietic stem cell collection campaign held in Nantong on Jan 10.

By donating 5 to 8 milliliters of blood as samples, volunteers have increased the chance of success in the search for a bone marrow match for leukemia patients, organizers said.

The hematopoietic stem cell collection network has been extended across the city since 2012. Healthy volunteers aged from 18 to 40 can offer a blood sample at 12 sites across the city. More than 12,000 people are now on volunteer list in Nantong.
