The 2015 China Tourism Standing Board came out on April 22 where Zhouzhuang, an ancient water town in Suzhou, Jiangsu province won the "Tourism Event of the Year" award for its tourism promotion in Venice in July, 2015.

Dating back to July 21, 2015, "China's Venice", Zhouzhuang, and the city of Venice in Italy, held a joint tourism promotion event, "A Tale of Two Cities", at the Monaco Grand Hotel in Venice, Italy.
Zhouzhuang displayed its tourism specialties such as traditional Chinese cakes, hand-made model boats and exquisitely wrapped souvenirs. Venice, sometimes dubbed the "City of Water", expressed its appreciation in participating in the promotion, adding that eco-tourism concepts especially ought to be a priority in the management of tourist attractions, said a spokesman for the Venetian tourist board.

On the day, the premier of the transnational micro film "The Twins Love" was aired. The film, produced by the tourism associations of Zhouzhuang and Venice as well as Italy's RAI state broadcaster, was shot in both Zhouzhuang and Venice.
This was the first time that Zhouzhuang had implemented cultural tourism exchanges in Venice. General manager of Zhouzhuang's tourism agency, Zhang Weiqing, said, "This promotion will deepen mutual understanding and communication, as well as enhance Zhouzhuang's international prestige."
