Wuxi signed a memorandum of understanding to expand trade and investment cooperation with its US sister city, San Bernardino, CA, during a ceremony in the Jiangsu province city on Feb 20.

Li Xiaomin, Party chief of Wuxi Municipal Government, and San Bernardino County Supervisor Curt Hagman addressed the signing ceremony.

Li extended a warm welcome to the visiting delegation from San Bernardino and briefly reviewed the friendly cooperation and exchanges conducted between Wuxi and San Bernardino since the two metropolises became sister cities in 2015.

During the past one and a half years, Wuxi and San Bernardino have carried out a series of cooperative and communicative activities in fields including finance, trade and education, according to Li. These initiatives have led to many positive outcomes: For instance, Wuxi Institute of Technology has established a partnership with San Bernardino Valley College.

Li concluded by expressing the hope that the two cities could set up a more stable and efficient cooperative system based on the memorandum, further deepening their mutual economic cooperation and exchanges.

Curt Hagman expressed his gratitude to the Wuxi government for their hospitality. He said Wuxi is San Bernardino's first sister city and he felt very glad to come to Wuxi again.

He also looked forward to conducting a comprehensive cooperation with Wuxi in the future.
