Baotou students win international robot competition

A team from Baotou No 6 High School won a silver medal for the high school group at the 2016 Asia-Pacific Robotics Championship, reports Baotou Daily.

The international championship took place in Zhuhai, Guangdong province, attracting more than 2,000 participants from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, Singapore, South Korea and the Middle East.

Various challenges were staged during the robot competition, including VEX and IQ robotics engineering competitions.

Sponsored by the Asian Robotics League (ARL), Asia-Pacific Robotics Championship is an international robot competition which attracts thousands of teenagers from Asian countries and regions. The international event aims to popularize robotics education and promote science and technology innovation among young people in Asian countries and regions. ARL has successfully held 10 tournaments in South Korea, Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan province, New Zealand and Macao, and has gained the support and active participation of young people from these areas.
