The rare-earth high-tech development district of the city of Baotou, Inner Mongolia has introduced activities that it says it hopes will provide a better environment for reading and encourage the public to develop reading habits, reports Baotou Daily on April 27, which quotes a local official as saying, "We're looking for more popular ways to increase reading enthusiasm among local people and are offering them a place to show their talent and ideas at the same time."
