Mobile Phone

Mobile phone numbers in China consist of 11 digits.

People can open mobile phone services at any of the business stations of China Mobile, China Unicom, or China Telecom in Tianjin.

Current operating cellular network standards in Tianjin: GSM (2G network), CDMA and WCDMA (3G network) operated by China Unicom, CDMA2000 operated by China Telecom, and TD-SCDMA operated by China Mobile.

In addition, cellular network companies in Tianjin have signed international roaming contracts with major cell phone service providers so that foreign visitors can use their own mobile phones during their stay in Tianjin. Ahead of their trips in Tianjin, visitors should consult their cell phone service providers to make sure whether they can enjoy global roaming services in Tianjin and how they much they will be charged for it.

How to Make a Phone Call?

To call a local landline phone in Tianjin outside China, please dial "+86" first followed by Tianjin's code "22", and then dial the landline number. For example, if you are calling 12345678, the actual number you need to dial is +862212345678.

To call a mobile phone in Tianjin outside China, still please dial "+86" first before the mobile phone number. For instance, if you are calling 12345678900, the number you actually need to dial is +8612345678900.

To call other landline phones in other cities or regions in China from landline phones in Tianjin, please dial "0" first followed by the city or region's code before the phone number.

To call a mobile phone in other parts of China using a landline phone in Tianjin, please also dial "0" first before the mobile phone number. Yet using a cell phone to call another mobile phone no matter where it is in China, people do not need to dial "0" before the cell phone number.

Internet Services

Basically most of the hotels provide Ethernet cable Internet service. In business centers in major four- and five-star hotels, customers can purchase Wi-Fi cards. Meanwhile some cafeterias and shopping malls offer free Wi-Fi services.

Three major wireless network operators in Tianjin are China Telecom, China Unicom, and China Mobile.
