The world's first immersive digital poetry show will debut at the Meixihu International Culture and Art Center's Grand Theatre in Changsha, Hunan province from Feb 22 to 24. The director plans to roll out a national tour in the near future.

The show, entitled Scene of Poem, offers an immersive digital experience with an accessible story. It takes on the themes of Tang and Song poetry and is divided into three acts.

"There are no seats in the theatre, as we want people to walk around and enjoy the show from all angles," said Li Yan, chief director of the program. The 800-square-meter theatre can only hold 200 audience members at once. The directing team tried to bring the show to audiences with a high artistic awareness and hoped they would help promote the show through online posts.

Unlike most prestigious shows, the poetry show will encourage the audience to take photos. Li said he was not worried that videos or pictures posted online would harm the box office. He considers the show a gift to Changsha citizens with the goal of offering an immersive experience of a beautiful poem.

The show makes use of advanced technology and offers an impressive visual experience. The theatre's ceiling, floor, and walls will be used to create a multi-angle spectacle for the audience.

Li wants the show to fully embody the poem and faithfully share it with the people of Changsha. He plans to carry out a national tour of the show, allowing more people to appreciate its beauty.
