Changsha county ranked 5th and 4th on the 2018 Top 100 Counties (Cities) in Comprehensive Development and Top 100 Counties (Cities) with Investment Potential lists, respectively.
The Top 100 Counties (Cities) in Comprehensive Development, Top 100 Counties (Cities) in Green Development, and Top 100 Counties (Cities) with Investment Potential were announced in the 2018 Research Results of the Development Index Study of Small & Medium-Sized Cities in China (1).
The results are published in People's Daily, and were released by the Research Group of the Development Index Study of Small and Medium Cities, the Research Institute of Development Strategy for Small and Medium Cities, and Zhongcheng Guohe Planning & Design Institute, a think-tank.
Small and medium-sized cities are important in promoting national economic development and rural revitalization, and are the main driver for big cities, absorbing the rural labor force and promoting urbanization.
Based on the demands of high-quality development, evaluations for the Top 100 Counties (Cities) in Comprehensive Development list are carried out in five areas, namely economic development, social progress, environmental friendliness, urban-rural integration, and government efficiency.
The investment potential study focuses on the development of an investment environment and the exploration of investment opportunities contained in the regional complex, tries to guide the direction of regional development, and puts forward suggestions for investors. The index system for evaluating investment potential includes population and labor, infrastructure, transportation, location, natural environment, and business environment.
