2018 Changsha International Marathon to kick off

The 2018 Changsha International Marathon will start on October 21. On October 7, Deputy Mayor Chen Zhong, and CPPCC Changsha Municipal Committee Vice Chairman and Changsha Sports Bureau Director Li Ping, visited the Committee and checked on preparations for the event. Specific preparation requirements were also put forward.
This is the fourth year the event has been held. It was upgraded to the China Athletics Association Top Event last year. Currently, many adjustments are being made to starting points, line settings, services, and medical insurance in order to meet the IAAF Bronze Standard requirements. Chen Zhong and his entourage listened carefully to the Committee staff report on line settings, and put forward specific requirements for event security, route instructions, and the opening ceremony. A half-marathon will take place in West Lake Cultural Park, close to the subway, which will provide convenient transportation to runners after the competition. Chen Zhong also stressed that it is necessary to guarantee runner safety in West Lake Cultural Park.
On October 8,the Committee held a press conference to announce running routes, costumes, medal styles, and preparations for the event.
Changsha seeks to revive porcelain production
In recent years, the local government has sought to revive the region's long tradition in porcelain making and boost local industry with the cultural influence of ancient Tongguan kilns, which have a history of 1,200 years.
