Changsha county held a gala to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Long March on Oct 19.

The gala staged an artistic interpretation of the Long March through chorus performances, singing, dancing, and dramas, providing the audience with both audio and visual rewards.

Children dressed in military uniform danced on the stage. "It is helpful for children to learn from the Long march spirit of working hard and fearing no difficulty," said a parent of one performer.

"We should not forget the history," said an audience member at the gala. "Three generations performing on the stage means the passing on of the Long March spirit."

The Long March was a military maneuver carried out by the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army of the CPC from 1934 to 1936.
